About us

Dermal Aesthetic Medispa @ Southbank Plastic Surgery has been established to provide Non-surgical Cosmetic Skin Treatments in an environment that enhances safety and efficacy. As a stand-alone facility, you can access either a qualified Dermal Therapist or Specialist Plastic Surgeon for a professional consultation, and explanation of the variety of treatments and products available.

As a Plastic Surgeon who performs Cosmetic Surgery as a large part of my practice, it provides the ability to maximise the potential of my rejuvenation procedures. For many people, surgery is either not desirable, or not appropriate: a great deal can be achieved in skin therapy and rejuvenation without surgery. In other people for whom surgery is desirable or appropriate, the addition of some of these non-surgical techniques may allow improvement and refinement to the end result, and it may also allow me to lower the risk profile of potential surgery.

We have chosen leading technology and products to provide safety, effective, predictable results in the most cost effective manner.

Our clinic

Welcome to our clinic. This has been my principle practice in Melbourne for over 15 years. In conjunction with Lynn Kaye BHSc, CDT (Dermal Clinician), we offer you a unique, holistic approach to surgical and non-surgical methods of skin and body rejuvenation. The moment you step into our Southbank clinic, you will know you have come to a practice with a difference. From the eclectic art collection to the welcoming staff, I want you to enjoy “going to the doctors”! You won’t have your care delegated to another doctor or a nurse – you will appreciate my involvement every step of the way. All surgery and “skin injectables” are administered by me. All other skin treatments using lasers, pulsed light, micro-needling and peels are administered by Lynn. You will also always see me at your post-operative visits.

My practice scope extends from skin cancer treatment, through body and breast enhancement to a strong interest in facial aesthetics. After a consultation with me you will have a realistic plan to achieve possible improvements. I’m not about selling dreams. Similarly, with Lynn you will be offered options for skin improvement that work.

Mr Brett Archer MBBS, FRACS

Specialist Plastic Surgeon

My training in Plastic Surgery began after 2 years of General Surgery training at Royal Melbourne Hospital, with 4 years of Victorian training. I then spent a year in Brisbane honing my micro-surgical skills for head and neck cancer reconstruction, followed by stints in London and New York focussing on facial cosmetic surgery. My current practice has a particular interest in non-surgical facial rejuvenation, which stemmed out of my experience in treating facial fat wasting in HIV treated patients (a side effect of some medications). I spent 15 years as a consultant at the Alfred Hospital.

I operate at Epworth Cliveden Hospital in East Melbourne, and Stonnington Day Surgery Centre in Malvern.

Philosophy

Your time is important. Our appointment times are unusually accurate, and your punctuality is appreciated and reciprocated.

$

Our aim is not to be the most expensive practice in town! In fact, you'll find our injectable treatments cost less many performed by less qualified and experienced practitioners.

Whether it is surgical, or non-surgical treatment, the aim is to look refreshed and relaxed, not pulled and plumped. When injectable products are used, small amounts of product are the usual practice.

High quality results and happy patients are important to us. If you experience an uneven result from injectables (a very rare occurrence) we will see you within the next few days to correct it at no further charge. Any necessary revisions of surgical procedures (again rare) are done with the aim to minimise further costs to you.
